M40 and NGC-4290 Galaxy Pictures

March 2007: I shot M40 one windy night in the Davis Mountains.  It's a fairly dim double star and not very exciting.  I like the two small galaxies on the lower right.  NGC4290 is the brighter one, and the tiny one doesn't have an NGC designation.  Poor guiding!

Equipment: Canon EOS 20Da (unmodified), ISO 1600, Takahashi TOA 130 (a 5" APO refractor) with reducer for 5 images and with flattener for 26 images, Losmandy G-11 mount.    My current image processing workflow is here.
