November 18, 2001 at 4 AM CST was the big Leonid Meteor Shower. I was fortunate enough to get a good shot of one of the Leonids going thru Ursa Major that I wanted to share with all of you. The shot was taken at the Sammy Neal Site of the North Houston Astronomy Club near Dolen, TX with my Olympus OM-1 35mm camera on a tripod using 800 speed Kodak film with about a ten second exposure at f/1.8.
It was a great evening and the Meteor show was worth staying out all night in the 47.6-degree temperature at 99 percent humidity. Hope you all got to see it first hand. Clear skies to all,
Kent Francis
