Cannon Beach - Looking South from Ecola State Park Early on a Clear Morning (film image)
If you look closely you can see where the side of the hill/mountain has been logged in the pictures.
I have a 13x19 print of the above image in my office, and it's awesome.
Above: Shot from Ecola State Park. It is possible for the sun to shine there! Here's a link for info about Haystack Rock, a protected marine and bird sanctuary.
General Notes: Unless otherwise indicated, these images are from my Nikon D100 camera. I had a (heavy) variety of lenses on this trip, including the 80-200 which I sometimes used with a Tamron 1.4x AF teleconverter.
"Built in 1880, the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse lighthouse was considered one of the world's most notorious lights. Situated a mile and a quarter offshore on an island of solid basalt, it was considered a triumph in creation and a nightmare to maintain. Nicknamed "Terrible Tilly", it endured seventy-seven years of turbulent service. In 1957 the light was extinguished and later private investors turned it into "Eternity by the Sea"...
