Looking North from our hotel at Cannon beach. Ecola Creek is in the foreground. The gulls gather on the beach at sunset, take baths in the stream, and generally chill out. Madeline had a horseback ride on this beach.

It really is an amazing structure for 1880! | "Built in 1880, the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse lighthouse was considered one of the world's most notorious lights. Situated a mile and a quarter offshore on an island of solid basalt, it was considered a triumph in creation and a nightmare to maintain. Nicknamed "Terrible Tilly", it endured seventy-seven years of turbulent service. In 1957 the light was extinguished and later private investors turned it into "Eternity by the Sea"...
