Birds photographed exclusively from our HP yard are here.
Many of my Hummingbird Pictures are from the back yard.
Cattle Egret going to work on the morning of 9/3. We see these heading north in the morning & south in the evening. Nikon D810A, 500mm lens, f5.6, 1/1000s, ISO 200, matrix metered at -0.33, I actually fired my off-camera flash but doubt it did anything.
June 2016, I saw these along the drainage area near our house while driving home from the store. I ran home and grabbed the big lens, and was glad to find these two had stuck around. I proceeded to slowly work my way closer to them for about 1/2 hour. Fortunately they slipped into the water, and there were some passing clouds, allowing me to get some shots like this one! While these ducks are noted for their sounds, they were totally silent during my time with them. The Audobon site has more info on this species.
Here's another shot of the ducks with a nice reflection off the water.
Nikon D610 camera, 300 f2.8 VRII with 1.4x wide open (f4 for the combo), 1/4000s, Auto-ISO at ISO 200.
Same gear as egret shot.
