This does look a bit like a jellyfish. IC 443 is a supernova remnant from a star that exploded about 30,000 years ago. These stellar explosions create the heavier elements in the universe. The Veil Nebula is also a supernova remnant.
Propus is the name of the bright (magnitude 3.3 per TheSky6) star on the upper right. It's in Gemini, 7-Eta-Geminorum. As you can tell, this star's color is on the orange end of the spectrum!
Image: Combination of approximately 24 exposures 11/19 and 20 11/20; ~44 x 4 minute exposures = 176 minutes total expsure, so let's round up to 3 hours.
My current image processing workflow is here.
Equipment: Canon EOS 20Da (unmodified), Takahashi TOA 130 (a 5" APO refractor) with reducer, guided with SBIG STV, Losmandy G-11 mount.
