Cygnus Area Image Index (Pictures of Objects in the Cygnus Area)
NGC 6888 in Cygnus, apparently a planetary nebula. This is 100% magnification of two film images stacked. Looking at this image in the red and blue channels reveals quite a bit of detail. Presumably the blue channel information is due to the reflection nebula thing. See my Horsehead Nebula and Trifid Nebula images for more discussion of the types of nebulae.
Takahashi FS-102 telescope, prime focus with reducer at 610mm focal length, f5.9
Thanks to Paul and Dave Clark for identifying this object. Randy Brewer has a nice shot of this area as well.
