Pollen-Covered Bee
This bee was hovering, nearly stationary, in front of the purple flower (believed to be Purple Sage) for at least 45 seconds. Not quite sure what it was up to. Nikon 105 f2.8 Macro Lens at f22, Nikon SB-28 flash, Aperture priority, raw mode.

I used a Nikon D100 DSLR camera to capture all the images on this page. The D100 was, and still is, a fine camera. I've moved up to first the D200, and in 2011 to the D7000. Aside from better sensors with more megapixels, the newer cameras feature much better low light performance.
